Beam products use role-based access control to ensure users have the exact level of permissions needed to perform their day-to-day responsibilities while maintaining data security and operational governance. The table below outlines what each manager role can perform directly:
Note: "Own scope" refers only to the team(s) the individual has manager access to.
How are the roles granted?
Org Admins
Initial Setup: Org Admins are established during initial onboarding. If you don't have an active Org Admin yet, the Beam Support team can handle any role assignments on your behalf.
Team Managers
Once an Org Admin is in place, they have full control over user management and can promote any user to Team Manager in two ways:
Users Tab: Click the three-dot menu next to a user's name.
Team Settings: Go to the Managers tab within a specific team.
Template Centre Managers
Designated Role: The Template Centre Manager role is a specific position rather than an automatic privilege given to all managers.
Assignment: An Org Admin assigns this role to designated individuals who will oversee template requests and permissions across the organisation.
