Logging in with Single Sign-On
Some organisations have enabled Single Sign-On (SSO) for Beam Notes. This allows you to access your account seamlessly using your existing work credentials, removing the need for one-time login codes.
What is SSO?
Single Sign-On is an authentication method that allows you to access multiple applications with one set of login credentials.
Think of SSO as a universal master key. Instead of carrying separate keys for your office, your car, and your home, you have one key that opens every door. In this case, your "master key" is your official work login.
How it Works with Beam Notes
When your organization uses SSO, the login process follows these steps:
Enter your Email: Go to the Beam Notes login page and enter your work email address.
-
Automatic Verification: * If you are already logged into your work system: Beam Notes recognises your active session and logs you in immediately.
If you are NOT logged in: You will be redirected to your organization’s internal login page. Once you sign in there, you will be automatically returned to Beam Notes.
Why use SSO?
Enhanced Security: It reduces "password fatigue." By maintaining one strong set of credentials rather than many weak ones, your data stays safer.
Seamless Access: You don't have to manage a separate password or wait for login codes to arrive in your inbox.
Centralized Identity: Your Beam Notes access is tied directly to your professional identity, ensuring that if you have access to your work tools, you have access to your notes.
Troubleshooting: "I can't log in"
If you encounter an error or are blocked from entering, please try the following steps:
1. Check your Work Connection
The most common reason for a login failure is not being authenticated on your company's network. Ensure you are signed into your primary work portal or VPN, then refresh the Beam Notes page.
2. Contact Internal IT
If you see an error message on your organization's specific login screen (e.g., "Access Denied" or "Invalid Password"), please contact your internal IT help desk. Since SSO is managed by your employer, Beam support cannot reset your work password for you.
3. Contact Beam Support
If you are successfully logged into your work network but Beam Notes still refuses to load your account, we are here to help! Reach out to our support team via live chat or support@beam.org.
