This article is a guide on how to create a shortcut to Beam Notes for the following browsers and systems: Chrome & Edge on Windows Desktop and Chrome & Edge on Mac Desktop. Please select the relevant section for you below. Note: Please do NOT install Beam Notes as an ‘app’ - this will not work.

• Chrome - Windows Desktop
• Edge - Windows Desktop
• Chrome - Mac Desktop
• Edge - Mac Desktop

Chrome - Windows Desktop

• Step 1 - Open beam.org

• Step 2 - Click the three dots in the top right corner of your browser to open Chrome’s menu

• Step 3 - Click on ‘Cast, save and share’

• Step 4 - Click ‘Create shortcut’

• Step 5 - This will open up a pop-up where you can name your shortcut and save it by clicking ‘Create’.

  

• Step 6 - This will now be a desktop shortcut on your background screen! Double clicking it will open up Beam Notes in Chrome.

  

• Step 7 - Drag and drop the shortcut from your desktop background onto your bottom task bar and it will just be a click away, regardless of what else you have open.

Edge - Windows Desktop

• Step 1 - Open beam.org in Edge

• Step 2 - Click the three dots in the top right corner of your browser to open Edge’s menu

• Step 3 - Click on ‘More tools’

• Step 4 - Click ‘Pin to taskbar’ (you can also pin to your Start here, if you wish).

• Step 5 - On the pop-up that appears in the bottom right of your screen, click ‘Yes’

• Step 6 - You will now have Beam Notes pinned to your taskbar and can click it at any time to open up in Edge.

Chrome - Mac Desktop

• Step 1 - Open beam.org

• Step 2 - Click the three dots in the top right corner of your browser to open Chrome’s menu

• Step 3 - Click on ‘Cast, save and share’

• Step 4 - Click ‘Create shortcut’

• Step 5 - This will open up a pop-up where you can name your shortcut and save it by clicking ‘Create’.

• Step 6 - This will now be a desktop shortcut on your background screen! Double clicking it will open up Beam Notes in Chrome.

Edge - Mac Desktop

• Step 1 - Open beam.org in Edge

• Step 2 - Ensure the desktop home screen is visible by reducing edge browser window size.

  

• Step 3 - Click on and drag the padlock/Beam notes address in URL bar across to desktop.

  

• Step 4 - You’ll now have Beam Notes shortcut on your Mac desktop!
