The Beam Notes desktop app is designed to make your life easier by simplifying the recording process. It is an intelligent application that detects when an online meeting begins—whether on Microsoft Teams, Zoom, or Google Meet—and asks if you would like to record.
By removing the need to navigate to the website or manually select audio sources, the app ensures you can focus on the conversation while Beam Notes handles the documentation. It’s also perfect for capturing in-person meetings with a single click.
How it Works
👩🏻💻 Automatic Reminders: The app detects when an online meeting starts and triggers a pop-up asking if you would like to begin a recording.
🎤 One-Click Recording: Start recording instantly via the pop-up or the app widget—no browser required.
🪄 Seamless Summaries: Once the meeting ends, it is automatically summarized into a Beam Note for you to review and edit.
How to Use It
The desktop app is built for both virtual and face-to-face environments.
Online Meetings
Our native app for Windows and macOS runs quietly in the background.
Detection: When you join a meeting in the Microsoft Teams app, Zoom app, or Google Meet (via Chrome), a desktop notification will appear.
Consent & Capture: If you choose to record (after gaining consent from participants), the app captures both your microphone and the system audio (the other speakers).
Automatic Upload: Once the meeting ends or you click Save, the recording is uploaded to your account at www.Beamnotes.ai, where your transcription and summary will be waiting.
In-Person Meetings
The desktop app also acts as a high-quality digital recorder for face-to-face sessions.
Quick Start: Simply click Start Recording from the system tray icon or the app widget to capture audio via your microphone.
Manual Trigger: If you miss an online meeting notification, you can use this same "Start" button to manually trigger a recording that captures both your voice and the meeting audio.
